Here’s what Michael Nash Design, Build and Homes did for Marie and Greg Brill to achieve their dream of a luxurious master bath.
But seriously, how did Michael Nash gave their new bath a bigger coverage without bumping out?
Once upon a time, a lovely couple purchased a foreclosure big colonial in Burke, VA. Everything was almost perfect, but the house lacks some beauty and functionality, especially the master bath.
Luckily they found a “fairy godmother” in Michael Nash Design, Build and Homes which the Brills hired to do a drastic renovation in their damaged master bath before they moved in.
Michael Nash wholeheartedly accepted the challenge despite the many flaws of the existing bath when it comes to comfort and aesthetics. And listened well to the request of the homeowners. As what Marie said, “We wanted a bath that not only was functional but was as beautiful as the rest of the home we were moving into and we knew we had to pretty much gut the old one to get it.”
The Brill couple needed not only a drastic change but a dramatic one to really bring their master bath to the next level. Therefore, the remodeling firm came up with a complete redesign plan.
First, they identified and found out that the main problem why space is crowded was the large 5’ by 10’ tub and tub deck. Other problems include an inconvenient small phone-booth size shower, limited vanities, lack of storage and a commode which was squeezed into a tight space between the tub and vanity. Aesthetically unwise!
Moreover, the building materials used were builder-grade in outdated colors and styles, and the plumbing was leaky which caused mold.
“We redesigned the whole space to be highly functional while fitting the Brills’ sense of style and luxury,” Sonny Nazemian, founder and CEO of Michael Nash Design, Build and Homes said.
A custom, frameless glass shower was installed giving a luxurious impression. A soaker tub was added which required the relocation of plumbing. For storage, custom cherry cabinets were created. And to finish off the grand look, large mirrors were mounted, black granite countertops and tiles of varying sizes. What happened to the commode? It was moved to a dormer space which now offers ultimate comfort.
Other smart ideas which Michael Nash Design, Build and Homes actualized is the leaded glass French door for an entrance which, along the windows gives the space natural and adequate light. Artificial lighting was as well beautifully installed — new recess and vanity lighting.
The last but totally not the least, high-efficiency exhaust fans are the vent to the roof for better insulation keeping the new master bath dry.
What did the Brills say?
“We love our bathroom,” said Brill. “It’s lovely and exactly what we wanted. As important, it was delivered on budget and in just about a month, so we could move in right on time.”
Obviously, what Michael Nash Design & Build and Homes did please the Brills that they hired them again to remodel two other baths and their kitchen.
