This townhouse is located in Historic part of Old town Alexandria with at least 130 years of its history. The house was renovated several times over different periods. A 1980’s addition was added to back of the kitchen. This meant, the kitchen was pretty run down and needed to be updated for the homeowners.
The existing space was dysfunctional, appliances were old, it had lots of bulkhead, lighting was poor and storage space limited.
Our design team met with the homeowners and proposed an overhaul and came up with the plan that made the homeowners wants to have it done yesterday.
The bulkheads and its contains were eliminated, lots of lights was added, all appliances where relocated and an unused wall was brought into the design. A peninsula with seating space was planned as part the new design.
The new wood floor throughout and light cabinetry with a dark counter top made the space brighter and happy space to work in and have friends and family gather for parties.
