1980 single family Home in woods of Vienna, VA owned into a dark and cramped kitchen for family of six. Since two of the kids were moving away, she wanted to take that opportunity to remodel the kitchen and bring the look into 21st century.
The old kitchen has short cabinets, large bulkheads, dark floor, not sufficient amount of storage.
The design team suggested a new double French door in the breakfast area which involved cutting exterior brick wall and relocating gas pipes.
All bulkhead and it’s contains were deleted and replaced with taller/stacked cherry cabinetry with Large details crown moldings.
All closets were taken down and added to kitchen, butler area got opened up and get matching cabinetry.
Contrasting island with overhang make the kitchen and it’s work space a delight.
Use matching hardwood flooring throughout first floor make the connection seamless.
