Being in a predominate Oakton home this customer wanted to make the kitchen as upscale as the neighborhood. There was limited lighting, lots of bulk heads and few short walls diving the breakfast, and family area. We have taken down all the walls and opened up the kitchen plan by having a big island in the middle with a microwave and beverage center built in. we have taken off all the unused closet space and converted one into a butler area and the other one accommodated a big refrigerator and pantry. The choice of staked upper cabinets and using light color wood made the space make a lot more spacious. We have added larger window in the breakfast room to allow more light into the space. The mantel hood is a grand feature in the kitchen.
