This kitchen was remodeled in conjunction with the rest of the home’s baths, foyer, floors, plumbing, etc… basically the entire home’s interior. The kitchen was nearly large enough, but was not configured well as it was built around the laundry room, which took too much space from the kitchen. We moved the wall back (right in the first photo), removed soffits and short cabinets, reconfigured the walls to the breakfast room, widened the doorway to the foyer, created a bar area in the hallway to the dining room, installed the recessed lighting, cherry cabinetry, including two large pantry cabinets where there had been wasted counter space. We installed a larger more energy efficient refrigerator in an area where we bumped the wall back to remove a blank corner. This allowed us to enlarge the island, which now incorporates more storage cabinets, and an additional prep sink.
