2016 NARI Capital CotY Merit Award Winner, Basement $50,000 to $100,000

New home is located in a secluded community, is occupied by a family of six. They have bought this home with unfinished basement hoping to design and build this space to be suitable for every member of the families need.

A major part of this remodeling were to relocate HVAC and duct work and plumbing in order to free up the center part of this basement .

The wants to achieve having a large entertaining area with bar setting, fireplace, a closed Movie theater room, powder room, full bathroom, bedroom and Gym.

An egress window had to be installed to designate a space a legal bedroom adjacent to a new full bathroom.

The entire basement has new stairs case and railing, a random width distressed hickory wood flooring, dark wood wainscoting on all main area.

The bar area is fully equipped with refrigerator, microwave, wine cooler and more facilities.

The lighting design along with color scheme of this project is one to stay in design book for years to come.

The New movie theater has multi-level seating, surround sound system and large projector.

The steel posts were redesigned and somewhat moved to open up the gaming area, now wrapped up with decorative columns and boxed header.

Full bathroom, with contemporary glass tile, shower and other facilities for guest bedroom,

The Gym (exercise area) was separated by a glass block from main area to allow natural lights.

Now, they get to show off their gorgeous basement to friends and neighbors. Every member of family has a favorite spot, whether is the game area, gym, bar or movie theater. The wife said the fireplace and seating area in front of it is her favorite spot. Husband called the basement the “Jewel of the home”.
