This young couple recently purchased an older rambler home in an upcoming Arlington neighborhood.They were hoping to join the neighborhood boom and explore a larger scale two story home with contemporary amenities and an Arts & Craft exterior.
This home located on a hill had a good potential of showing off its front elevation. Adding a garage space and side balcony off the study has been a big plus on their wish list.
Tearing out old roof, raising up the first-floor ceiling to 9 feet, implementing New staircase to second floor and basement, and ripping out all interior first floor walls to create open floor plan layout were all essential parts of this revamped project.
From to top to bottom: a new second story four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, laundry room was added over the old structure.9-foot ceiling, Master bedroom suite with tall windows, a master suite bath covered in white Carrera tile is die for. The fee standing tub, large scale shower stall with multi body sprays and private commode area, just has been a delight to end your days in.
Master bedroom equipped with a custom-made closet system has been one of her dreams.
The second floor equipped with second floor HVAC system and a laundry closet in addition to their basement laundry room is making daily chores much simpler.
The Jack and Jill bathroom and guest bathroom with classic subway style tile and black and white mosaics flooring made these spaces timeless.
The entire home covered with wide plank dark mahogany wood flooring has complimented the white cabinetry and white quartz counter top.
Double sliding door from new family room has given a direct access to flagstone covered backyard patio and outdoor kitchen space. New family room with covered stone fireplace made a big pop in main level transformation, a butler area with wine fridge and glass cabinets is an added bonus,just to left of the front foyer is open dining room with wainscoting and double French door leading to their home office.(Much needed space during this pandemic made this couple more grateful than even to have this spaceaway from kids and home chaos.
The front elevation is to die for. The new added front porch with wide stone covered steps and porch covered with dark metal roof and wide square pillars. A 10 feet wide custom glass front door with denim blue Hardie plank siding, black windows and white trim made this home to stand among all homes in this neighborhood.
The basement was totally revamped with new mudroom area from garage, converting old garage to a guest bedroom with adding a e-grass window and a basement bathroom, an open floor plan gaming area for two youngsters. A bar area with dark blue cabinetry, white marble and complimentary black floor tiles given them a cozy yet comfortable guest quarter. New hot water heater, new furnace and a large pantry space with built ins made them super excited about this basement.
Our designers have worked closely with this home owner to deliver the timeless elegance that she has always imagined. The New kitchen facing the beautiful backyard with professional scale appliances, pot filler, a large-scale middle island, mosaic tile backsplash has just made this house a home for ever.
