It’s finally the fall season. In a few months, winter will be approaching and you won’t have much time to organize your garage. Is your garage a total mess? Now would be the time to tidy it up.
Whether you do it on your own or hire someone to do it for you. Here are few easy tips to keep your garage organized.
Step 1: Clear The Space
Before doing anything else, get rid of all the junk and other stuff in your garage. This will be easier for you to assess the space.
Step 2: Assess The Space
One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make when they organize their garages is that they forget to plan what the space is for. Of course, it’s meant for cars. However, there are other things you store in it too. Visualize your space and how you want it to be.
Step 3: Sort The Items
You can take out boxes and label them with “Donate”, “Dispose”, “Recycle”, and so on. This step is just an option though, if you just want to get rid of everything, you can freely do so.
Step 4: Gather The Supplies
Now it’s time to gather all your organizational supplies. Consider building shelves or built-in cabinets with modern flat doors where you can stash your items. You may also use a rolling tool rack for transport supplies.
Step 5: Maintain The Organization
When you use something from the garage, make sure that you put it back in its proper place and label everything you can.
