2013 Professional Remodeler, Silver Award Winner, Residential Kitchen $50,000 to $100,000

It’s a 2000 contemporized home located in New Trump International Golf Course Community. Because of this massive golf course project almost every home in the neighborhood started to do major renovations to scale up to the new look of this community. This home has a beautiful over look of the golf course but the current layout of the kitchen and family room and the partition walls in place prohibits taking advantage of its breathtaking view. The design team has put a magnificent plan to open up most of the first floor layout, in order to take advantage of the light and view of the back yard. Client dislikes the dark look of the cabinets, counters and the galley style kitchen that they have inherited from the building.

Major obstacles have been that the partition walls from family room to kitchen are the major bearing wall of the house. The wall between dinning room and kitchen contains all major duct work and plumbing routed through for the second floor. The new design had both of these walls eliminated and all the loads were recalculated and repositioned to allow continuous traffic flow and openness. Another major drag was the sunk- in living room, which made a very difficult clear path from front door to family room, kitchen, and back of the house.

We have made the portion of the living room to be leveled to the rest of house. Putting creative angular steps in place we have the living room useful and cozy. The ten foot ceilings gave us a very nice opportunity to stack up decorative glass cabinetry and highly crafted crown moldings on top, while maintaining a considerable amount of cabinetry right below it. The custom made brush stroke finished cabinetry with all bells and whistles such as corbels chimney style wood hood surrounded with leaded glass cabinetry. Also pillars were all part of detailed craftsmanship of this project. Now comes the big island, all plumbing and electrical has been rerouted to be placed in this 5ft by 14ft, island that is the center of attention in this kitchen.

The island consist of main sink with a pedal style control disposer, dishwasher, microwave, second bar sink, beverage center refrigerator and still room to sit five to six people. Is all part of amenities of this island. The use of hardwood floor in kitchen and family room to match the rest of the house has made a seamless transition and a very open floor plan customer wanted to use a very selective marble for counters and backsplash to add to the brightness of their kitchen; we also added couple of crystal chandeliers over the island to create a very timeless but elegant finishes for this project, high end thermal door appliances covered in custom panels are part of this featured project both to satisfy client excessive need and implement the classic look that we had in mind for this kitchen. Featured wall is the china cabinetry custom made to partition kitchen from dining room.

Client is ecstatic with the outcome of this project and since she is very active realtor in that community, she has shown off her kitchen to every client that is interested into buying in this community.
