This Military couple have been transferred from Virginia Beach. They recently purchased a three-story townhome in Old town Alexandria in an upcoming neighborhood. The current Kitchen design was old and run down. Closed up by walls, this kitchen space was partitioned and felt very clustered.
The couple wanted an open concept, modern design and all around no walls between living spaces and kitchen.
Dropped ceiling and bulkhead were limiting the storage space, the dining room had an empty wall that we have taken advantage of this dead space to place larger pantries and display cabinetry to offer much needed storage and counter space.
The plumbing and ventilation were relocated to create a big Island with sink in the middle of the space, and stove to be placed on back wall surrounded with floor to ceiling stacked cabinetry.
White shaker style cabinets with an exotic white marble top, extended wood flooring instead of old tile has spruced up this beauty.
The smart use unique backsplash tile and LED lighting has given an uplifting look to entire project.
The couple love to spend time cooking and entertaining in this kitchen and have friends and family gather around the big island to celebrate their move into the Old town.
