Living in a very prominent neigborhood in Mclean, VA, this homeowner wanted to bring her kitchen to its full potential. The house was built in mid 80’s with short wall cabinetry, big bulkheads, and cook top across the aisle from sink, dysfunctional island, peninsula which separated kitchen from breakfast and two different flooring with mismatched stain tones.
Homeowner belongs to a large community and it was important for her to be able to entertain in her kitchen. Light source from adjacent mudroom was limited and needed attention. We proposed to lighten up the kitchen by the way of introducing very upscale inset white cabinetry with lot of glass options and large molding. Stacked upper glass cabinetry has taken over the old bulkhead and wall paper. The large island with display glass cabinet now is the center show off this kitchen.
Large professional stove was now placed on south wall with a custom built hood is the focal point of the kitchen. New matching hardwood floor and refinishing the rest of family room and breakfast room made a seamless impression. The unused wall of breakfast area now is filled with a custom build hutch for the display of her priceless china.
We have installed a French door with glass transom to allow more light into mud room.
What made this kitchen immaculate was the use of exotic marble so clear and its harmonizing color complimenting the cabinetry. All and all this proud homeowner now gets to impress all her friends and neighbors with her prize winning kitchen.
