2022 PRO Mid Atlantic Remodeler of the Year, Finalist Award Residential Landscape Design/Outdoor Living Over $250,000

Searching for more than a year, this family of four landed themselves on a two‐acre estate home in the suburb of Vienna, VA.

Large home with the potential for backyard expansion.

They bought this home before the pandemic just for the possibility of making the backyard their dream playground.

Since the pandemic hit, the kids and adults were cooped up at home. The urgency of this outdoor living space was more imminent.

The kids wanted a large pool. He wanted a large deck, gazebo, and fireplace. She wanted her own jacuzzi and large patio.

Their land was full of trees, situated on hilly ground.

Plans were developed, and they wanted to execute this as quickly as possible to use this space.

Lot clearing, relocating nuttily lines, and excavating a five-foot-tall backyard to grade are just some of the many challenges of this outdoor project.

A lead walk with stairs covered in stone, a retaining wall, and stone bedded landscaping is the start of this project, bringing you down from the driveway and side entrance into the backyard.

A large multi‐level irregular flagstone patio is the main showcase of the backyard. It leads you to a secluded octagonal gazebo in front of a stone fireplace, outdoor kitchenette, and wrapped around with stone-wall seating.

The gazebo, which is covered with cypress stain grade ceiling panels, a large ceiling fan, recess lights, and infrared heating elements, makes this outdoor living space suitable for all seasons’ use.

The lower patio runs into a place for a jacuzzi under the covered deck just above it.

The leading staircase takes you to the upper‐level deck area just outside of the kitchen and family room. This deck space gives them the opportunity to entertain off the main level and overlook the beautiful backyard and pool.

In conjunction with a partnering pool company, we have created a heated pool and Graffiti waterfall rock behind it.

The surrounding pool deck wrapped with flagstone and contrasting stone retaining walls make this backyard the most prestigious home in the neighborhood

The amenities for outdoor gas fireplace and grill, heated pool and pool equipment, and landscape lighting were all accommodated through major underground power and gas line from the side of the house to the backyard

This outdoor Oasis is stunning and breathtaking, especially after sunset with all lights on.

It couldn’t come at a better time for kids to enjoy the pool and have friends over, a relief from all the cabin fever.

This family can’t get enough of this patio, and they love to spread the news about how thrilled they are to have this outdoor space.

The choice of irregular flagstone, gray tigerwood decking with contrasting rails and trims, heated patio and Gazebo space, outdoor jacuzzi, fireplace, and kitchenette are the biggest features of this backyard.
