AN OPEN-PLAN KITCHEN IS A FAVORITE IN MODERN HOMES
By far, one of the most popular requests from homeowners is an open floor plan. Designers usually get such orders when people feel confined in their kitchen space. For instance, we met some challenges for this project:
- Taking down a load-bearing wall
- Plumbing and duct chase removal and relocation
- Creating a newly added space from a garage
We repeated a favorite element in each section of the plan. That incorporates unique custom-painted denim blue base cabinets and whitewall cabinets as seen in the now much-larger L-shaped kitchen. The sizable kitchen island was also lined-up with the same blue cabinetry. Additionally, an overhaul was given to the double-sided fireplace to make it blend effortlessly with the new decor. We then replaced the old flooring with dark gray-brown cherry wood to further enhance the room’s blue hues. This remarkable design is the 2022 NATIONAL NARI, REGIONAL COTY AWARD WINNER, FOR REGION 2 SOUTHEAST,RESIDENTIAL KITCHEN OVER $150,000.
