This young couple recently purchased an older rambler home in an upcoming Arlington neighborhood. They were hoping to join the neighborhood boom and explore a larger scale two-story home with contemporary amenities and an Arts & Craft exterior.

This home was located on a hill and had a good potential of showing off its front elevation. Adding a garage space and side balcony off the study has beenon the top of their wish list.

Tearing out the old roof, raising up the first-floor ceiling to 9 feet, implementing a new staircase to the second floor and basement, and ripping out all of the interior first floor walls to create an open floor plan layout were all essential parts of this revamp project.

A new second story four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, laundry room was added over the old structure. The 9-foot ceiling, Master bedroom suite with tall windows, a master suite bath covered in white Carrera tile isto diefor. The freestanding tub, large scale shower stall with multi-body sprays, and private commode area have been a delight to the homeowners.

A master bedroom equipped with a custom-made closet system has been one of the homeowners’dreams.

The second floor equipped witha second floor HVAC system and a laundry closet in addition to their basement laundry roomhas madedaily chores simpler.

The Jack and Jill bathroom and guest bathroom with classic subway style tile and black and white mosaics flooring made these spaces timeless.

The entire home covered with wide plank dark mahogany wood flooring complementedthe white cabinetry and white quartz countertop.

Double sliding door fromthe new family room has given direct access to the flagstone covered backyard patio and outdoor kitchen space. The newfamily room with a covered stone fireplace made a big pop in the main level transformation, a butler area with wine fridge and glass cabinets is an added bonus. At the left side of the front foyer isanopen dining room with wainscoting and double French door leading to their home office. (The much-neededspace during this pandemic made this couple more grateful than ever, having their own officespace away from kids and home chaos.

The front elevation is to die for with a new added front porch with wide stone covered steps and porch covered with dark metal roof and wide square pillars. A 10-feet wide custom glass front door with denim blue Hardie plank siding, black windows, and white trim made this homestand outamong all homes in this neighborhood.

The basement was totally revamped witha new mudroom area from the garage. We convertedthe old garage to a guest bedroom andaddedan e-grass window and a basement bathroom. We also madean open floor plan gaming area for the two youngsters. The basement also has a bar area with dark blue cabinetry, white marble, and complimentary black floor tiles, givingthem a cozy yet comfortable guest quarter. New hot water heater, new furnace and a large pantry space with built-insmade them super excited about this basement.

Our designers have worked closely with this homeownerto deliver the timeless elegance that they havealways imagined. Also, the newkitchen facing the beautiful backyard with professional scale appliances, pot filler, a large-scale middle island, mosaic tile backsplash has just made this house a home for ever.
