Build a House Project: Luxurious Terrace for Entertaining the Guests

Michael Nash has done numerous projects for different homeowners in Fairfax, Virginia and its neighboring communities. Most of the projects we have tackled have been a kitchen, bathroom, and basement renovations. However, we’ve also been given the pleasure of designing a terrace for one of our clients.

We’ve designed the terrace and the patio having our clients in mind. The function of our design allows social interaction in the beautiful natural setting that surrounds their home. We also wanted to match the elegance of the exterior structure of the home with the living extensions.

The terrace we worked with was connected to an indoor living space which we designed in a way where the homeowners could enjoy the full scenery outside without leaving the cozy indoors. We designed an indoor living area with glass panels and wooden furniture to complement the wooden ceilings put up. This offers the living space a warm ambient environment where they can enjoy their morning coffee or plan for the day.

Our team also constructed an outdoor stairway on the side of the house going to the terrace so that it will be easier for homeowners and guests to gain access to the living space on the second floor without having to go inside.

We’ve also designed the patio to fit the terrace’s design with wrought iron chairs and a table. It also has a stone fountain that fits perfectly with the warm and cozy, yet elegant scheme of the fountain, blending in with the stone flooring. We’ve also added a built-in island with a grill, sink, and refrigerator, which is perfect for outdoor dine outs. The patio is the perfect place for the family to read, eat outside, and do other tasks as they enjoy the outdoor scenery.

For the terrace, we made a minibar where the homeowners can serve drinks to their guests on special occasions. The minibar has a marbled countertop and inside are metal storage cabinets where homeowners can place their glassware. The flooring is made of hardwood to match the warm aesthetic of the home. In contrast to the light shades used, we used the same wrought iron furniture used in the patio.

We wanted a spacious terrace that matched the color scheme of the patio to have a cohesive look for the overall living space in the exteriors of the home. Our team was glad that the homeowners were satisfied with the overall outcome of the project as made sure that we implemented every detail they wanted for the design and function of the space we worked with.
