This large wine storage cellar, with the capacity to hold 2000 bottles, was
designed as a part of a basement finishing remodel. We wrapped it around the
"contol tower" for the media center, which has the bar on the other
side. We created a focal point for the tasting table, and then added a geometric
pattern of wine storage surrounding it. We also included custom lighting in
the niches and tasting area, that can be dimmed to create a more casual atmosphere.
It also makes a focal point when descending the stairs into the basement, as
you are facing it when coming down the stairs. We built a companion liquor cabinet
that echoes the arches in the wine tasting area, and also has custom lighting
concealed behind the arches. The tasting table is large enough to accomodate
several people at the same time, and the design allows for expansion as the
couple's collection grows. |
