This townhouse kitchen needed remodeling but could not be expanded. The homeowner
wanted to have an eating counter, which was a design challenge. We constructed
the counter as a peninsula with shallow depth cabinets along the wall. This
retained most of the floor space in the kitchen. A drop ceiling was removed
to give us space to install tall upper cabinets for additional storage space.
The tile backsplash completes the rich look of the kitchen with hardwood cabinetry
and a deep toned brown granite. The upper cabinets have some glass front doors
to break up the expanse of solid door fronts, and for displaying the homeowners
barware. |
