To make this a truly luxurious country style kitchen, we included a gas fireplace, along with the second toned desk and wine rack areas. This creamy toned kitchen makes the room feel larger than it's narrow and long size really is, and it gives the homeowners a comfy area for eating and socializing with the corner fireplace near the new bay window. These touches make the area feel more spacious, even though it has to accomodate more cabinets and furnishings than before. We also opened up the space with taller upper cabinets that capture the former soffit space for usable storage in the new cabinets. Dentil moulding touches, cabinet end display shelves and the sink window decoration help give this kitchen a country feel. We also installed a smooth cooktop in the peninsula area for some additional cooking and entertaining capacity. The dark granite gives the kitchen some contrasting color for interest.
