This
kitchen addition was neatly tucked into the space of a former carport, and compliments
the home with siding and colors to match a previous addition on the opposite
side of the home. The owners wanted a large kitchen, and they got a 20 foot
extension on their existing kitchen. Now they have a large space for cooking,
dining and socializing, that is also central to the traffic flow in the home
from the entry, upstairs, TV room, outdoors and lower level. We also added a
powder room off to the side, giving them an additional bath in the home. The
kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances, including a wolf gas range,
granite countertops, including a counter height informal dining area at the
island, individually lit by the pendant lights. The color pallette is neutral,
but offers some contrast, which they have picked up in their colors in the new
oak plank flooring and deep blue wall colors. The cabinetry wraps the back and
sides of the room, and the front and remaining side have large windows to let
in light and give them a view of the front landscaped garden when using the
room. The kitchen sink looks out over the rear landscaped yard and brick grilling
area. The kitchen has a Wolf professional range with a mosaic of smaller tumbled
tiles accented with pewter and copper metallic tiles laid diagonally, as a focal
point. This area also ties in with the tumbled tile backsplash which also has
matching metallic accents. As a bonus, the owners now also have additional storage
space in an outside cabinet attached to the side of the addition. |
