Primary objective of this assignment is to reconfigure and upgrade existing master bedroom suite— adding larger, more luxurious amenities while staying within existing footprint.
Specifically, owners seek to convert drab interior characterized by dated, builder-grade amenities, restricted space, small windows and an inadequately-sized shower and Jacuzzi and into a fully-equipped spa bath with a finely-developed interior design concept featuring a warmly-inviting ambiance and distinctive detailing.
To accomplish new requirements, the design/build team closely assesses the existing space use, subsequently discovering almost 2 feet of wasted space behind the shower. Inspired by precious added inches, the reconfigured layout provides for a larger shower (increased from 4’ to 6.5’) and generously apportioned whirlpool bath.
Designer developed a space plan that provides well-rationalized circulation between key activity areas. Structural changes included installing new header. Plumbing and duct work was rerouted to accommodate new amenities. Exterior vinyl-siding (in areas effected by new windows) was seamlessly restored.
Other key improvements included:
Larger, wider windows above the Jacuzzi
Larger frameless shows with recessed niche cubbies to owner specification
Heart-shaped whirlpool mounted on a raised platform; features sites to wooded lot
Double vanity with granite counter surfaces
Frameless shower with built-in bench
Recessed lights
Ceramic tile flooring, decorative wall cladding
Pocket door
